Which Decade Do You Belong In?
Not the one you were born in. The one that would have suited you
Some people would have been perfectly happy with three television channels and a landline. Others were waiting their whole lives for everything to be instant. Ten questions about pace, attention and how you prefer to be contacted, and a decade that fits.
Before you start There are no right answers. Pick what is usually true for you, not what sounds best.
Nostalgia is not required. Several of these decades were objectively worse to live in, and that is part of the fun.
What it measures
Your preferred pace of life, tolerance for interruption and relationship with waiting. Dressed up as decades, because that is more fun to read.
Possible results
The 1970s
Long letters, three channels, nobody able to reach you
The 1980s
Loud, physical, and everything had to be gone to in person
The 1990s
Connected, but not all the time, and you could still switch it off
Right now
You were waiting for all of this and you are not apologising
Common questions
I got a decade I was not alive for.
Most people do, and it is more interesting that way. The test is about pace and attention, not memory, so it works the same whether you lived through the decade or only saw it in films.
Were the old decades better?
For attention, arguably. For almost everything else, no - and the people most nostalgic about them are usually the ones the old arrangements suited best. The useful thing to take from your result is the pace, not the period.
An honest note This one is for fun. Enjoy it, share it, but do not plan your life around it.
