Some people read the recipe twice. Some people have never finished reading one. The kitchen is an unusually honest place, because there is a result at the end and you cannot argue with it. Ten questions, one result, and possibly an argument at home.
Before you start There are no right answers. Pick what is usually true for you, not what sounds best.

My partner and I are different types.
Almost everybody is, and the kitchen is where it shows first. The fix is the same as everywhere else: decide in advance who is leading, rather than negotiating it with a hot pan in your hand.
